Kitchen renovation (continued)
4/21/2017 I started tiling the countertop in the dining room today.
4/20/2017 We put in the back splash tile. We bought a glass subway tile to go above it and around the window but decided it was too dark so didn't put it in.
Here is a close-up of the back splash tile. Not grouted yet.
4/23/2017 We grouted the kitchen and dining room today.
4/26/2017 The end of the tiling. The laundry room floor is done! Now have to remove the window and build a new one and put it in in a slightly different location. Then put the rest of the cabinets in.
5/14/2017 Took the laundry room window out.
I replaced it with a fixed window. I bought the double pane glass and built the frame. Notice below that I also moved the dryer vent. So now when you push the dryer up against the wall the hole in the wall lines right up. Before the vent was about four feet to the left so a big hose had to connect them. This gives a few more inches to the room, which was really needed.
5/15/2017 Last night I plastered the wall. This morning after a little sanding, we put in the rest of the cabinets. You can see that Lynn is already filling the cabinets. We have a granite counter top that is going on top of the washer and dryer and the cabinet shown below. The granite people should be here next Monday to put it in.
Hard to get a good picture with all the sun coming through the window but the other day I put the trim up around the kitchen window and built a small shelf for the bottom. I bought the molding for the window with the window so I didn't have to make it.
The other day I also made the molding going around the French door and the arched window above it.
