Now that the screen room is done, now I have to finish the deck.  I'm using TimberTech XLM decking material.  The droopy stuff between the joists in the picture below is a rubber material used for flat roofs.  It will catch water and take it to the far end of the deck into a gutter.  This will keep under the deck dry in case we want to do something down there. Like the swing I got when we were on vacation in the Keys.  The posts and railings are white with black aluminum round balusters.

11/14/2012 I decided not to close in the part of the deck in the foreground in the picture above.  So moved everything off and ripped up the old decking.  I put one section of the railing together to see how it looks.

Down came the old temporary stairs after making all new stringers, a platform and cutting the treads and risers.

I took a little ingenuity to stand the 4'x6' platform up, the orange tow rope and a come-along.

The new stairs going up.  I've got to find someone to haul the old deck away.

This is what the deck looked like this morning.  I was out last night so didn't feed the raccoons but they obviously made good use of the new stairs.  It's hard to see in the picture below but there are hundreds of dirty little foot prints on the stairs.

12/3/2012 What a beautiful day for working outside, sunny in the mid 70's.  I finished the stairs a couple days ago.  Still need to do the railings.

The main part of the deck is done.  Now I have to put down the rubber on this part then finish it.  I'm also removing the slider to the right of the view below so that has to be done now too.

Here is a birds eye view from the upstairs bedroom.

12/5/2012 With the new slider in the living room to the sun room, I figured the slider to the deck wasn't needed.

So out it came.

There it is, gone!

Now there is more wall space in the living room.  Just have to put in the insulation then sheetrock.

12/7/2012  Well I ran out of decking material.  Need to order more.  I ordered a new French door, from the kitchen to the deck.  The one there isn't in very good shape.  I plan on putting the glass window above it.  So they will both get done the beginning of 2013.  Below is how it looks now.  If I have time before going north for Christmas I'll put up more railing.
