9/6/2012 Here is the start of the sun room.
The end of Day 1.
Friday morning, 9/7/2012 It's raining!!! Guess where Yonges Island is in the weather map below.
They did get some done on Friday.
Monday the roof goes on.
10/2/2012 After a week in the Keys, the workers came today to put in the window panels and doors. I've taken the end wall of the living room apart getting ready for the 12 foot wide French slider door. There is hardly anything holding that three-panel window in place. The new door should be in the end of this week or next Monday. As soon as the sun room is closed in, I'll take out the window, make the opening about 4 feet wider and put up a new header so it is ready when the door does come in. I need to redo some wiring and move an AC duct in the floor. I'm going to take out the entry door to the existing sun room, which is to the right of the view below, and frame it in. I'll be closing in the existing sun room and taking down the bedroom wall to make it bigger.
The top and bottom panels are fixed. The center panels slide and can be easily removed.
I'm glad we got the clear panels, as apposed to smoked ones. You can't even tell your looking through anything. There will be screens on the sliding panels though. All that is left to do is finish putting in the two side entry doors and some trim work.
When they get done with the sun room, I'll get back to finishing the open deck. The 84 Lumber shipment should come in this week with the material for the new stairs.
10/3/2012 Man, I can't wait to get this project done so I can clean up this place! Sun room is closed in. The three windows on the right going to the sun room come out today. The sun room gets AC until the new door comes in. I started rewiring the wall.
10/3/2012 Well the windows are out. The sun room is done, except for the tile floor. Lowes shopping tomorrow for the lumber to make the wall wider and add a heavier header.
